10 Year Reunion

I waited around Ashton for a year and married Cynthia, and we moved to Pocatello to go to school. When Ricks became BYU-I we moved home because we love Ashton. I started working for my dad while Cynthia finished school. Now, I work for Powerline Construction Company, and I have a year and a half left until I am a journeyman lineman. I love my job, and I am glad I finally figured out what I want to do for my entire life. Cynthia teaches English at NF, and she loves the new high school. We are a bit disappointed that the old school isn't there anymore, and our kids can't see where we met. But the new school is great.

We had our first child, Aspyn, in July 2003. She is a daddy's girl and a girly-girl, but she loves to go fishing and camping with me. Cynthia even likes to camp now!

Our second child, Max, was born February 2006, and he is something else. He reminds me of me when I was little. Plus, they both look like me, so that's a plus for them!

They are so fun, and I can't imagine life without them. They are the most amazing, wonderful things that have ever happened to me. Our third child is due May 5th, 2009, and we are so excited. Cynthia didn't want to find out what it was, but the ultrasound onthe 31st of December showed very clearly that it was another boy. We hope he gives Max a run for his money so Max will leave Aspyn alone once in awhile. We're looking for good names for our boy, so if you have suggestions let us know.

We are loving life in Ashton with our family, and we are excited that we've been going strong for 8 1/2 years. Other than that, we haven't changed a whole lot. I still love to hunt, fish, camp, and snowmachine. I count down the days until August 30th every year (the beginning of archery season), and now I get to share my love of the outdoors with my gorgeous children. Cynthia still isn't into the outdoors much, though she does like to camp now. She's still a girly bookworm. They say opposites attract, and it sure has worked out for us.

Need I Say More??

Olivia Oldham

I thought an interesting way to update you all about my life would be to list 50 facts about myself. Some of them are interesting while others are totally random. Enjoy...
1. I have an Associates degree from Rick’s college.
2. I served an 18-month mission in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania 4 and ½ of those months I spent in Hanover, which is 15 minutes from Gettysburg.
3. I own an authentic Amish rocking chair purchased from a man named Zook whom I met in PA.
4. Since high school, I have had 43 roommates all but 3 of them I can name. And 16 I still keep in contact with not counting the 2 I am now in contact with on a daily basis.
5. I graduated from BYU-Idaho in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
6. As a graduation present to myself I went to Disneyland with Alan Reynolds.
7. I have lived in four states. Idaho, Pennsylvania, Wyoming, and Utah
8. I am licensed to teach and have taught in three of those states.
9. I taught my first year of school in Pocatello, Idaho in the 6th grade.
10. I spent my second year of teaching in Rock Springs, Wyoming in the 6th grade.
11. During my third year of teaching I decided that I was destined to live life with 11 – 12 year olds when I was hired to teach in Riverton, Utah once again in the 6th grade.
12. I finally feel like I am where I want to stay for a while and in my fourth year of teaching I didn’t move schools or states.
13. My favorite job so far is the one I’m currently doing. – I teach the 6th grade gifted and talented class at my school. –Most of my students are smarter than I am.
14. Math is my favorite subject to teach. – This year my students are learning Pre-Algebra. It’s been a challenge because I’ve never taught it before.
15. I hated grammar growing up but now that I teach it I find it rather interesting and enjoyable.
16. I hate grading papers – the worst are spelling papers. For this reason my students correct each others tests every Friday.
17. I love it when my 6th graders do something that makes me laugh or smile. They are such a fun age to teach.
18. My three favorite fonts are Comic Sans, Bradley Hand, and Chalkboard.
19. In June I was accepted to graduate school through USU. I am currently surviving my first full semester of teaching full-time and taking classes at night.
20. I loved the year I spent in Wyoming. I think that it holds its own beauty I loved the buttes, plateaus, and the desert landscape. The people there are wonderful too.
21. I have three adorable nieces. Who know that whatever they want I will buy for them. – I’ve got to have a reason to work right??
22. My nieces call me Aunt Ollie and I love it.
23. The furthest I’ve been from home is the East coast either Washington D.C. or New York. I’ve never been out of the country but hope to venture outside the U.S. sometime in the near future.
24. In an interview I was once asked, “if I was a balloon what color would I be and why and what would I be filled with?” – I thought it was a really weird last question. I was offered the job but turned it down.
25. I have a list of things to do before I die. On the top of that list are walking on the Great Wall of China, seeing the Northern Lights, and learning to play the piano well.
26. My favorite kind of pizza is Papa Murphy’s stuffed take and bake.
27. My favorite sport to watch is football. I am currently obsessed with BYU football. I have season tickets and just enjoyed a great game on Saturday.
28. I really don’t have a favorite season I like the feeling with each season as they change. For example I love that right now the leaves are changing and the air is crisp in the mornings and evenings and fall is just “in the air”. I’ll feel the same way when it starts to snow, or the trees and flowers start to bloom, or it get nice and warm. I usually really miss PA when the seasons change – their seasons are so much more distinct than ours are in the West.
29. I’ve owned an ipod for over a year but only use it if I’m cleaning or flying on an airplane.
30. I am a big Harry Potter fan. I enjoyed all of the books, love the movies, and can’t wait for #6 to hit theaters in November.
31. I love yoga. I haven’t been able to fit it in lately and I miss it.
32. I enjoy cooking but don’t like it when I’m only cooking for myself so I usually only make meals that take 10 min of prep time.
33. The two things I am most looking forward to right now are my student’s performances of an independent research project they have been working on for two months and wearing my cool Halloween costume to work on Friday.
34. I love water parks and want to go to Texas and go to the Travel Channel’s #1 ranked water park.
35. I enjoy crocheting and I like to quilt because it is something I feel connects me to my mom and grandmother. I’m currently working on a quilt my grandma started, my mom has helped me with, and I am trying to piece together. It requires over 100 blocks.
36. When I take off my shoes I rarely ever untie them.
37. My favorite thing to eat for breakfast is a bagel sandwich with cream cheese, ham, an egg, and melted cheddar cheese.
38. I like to rollerblade.
39. My favorite “toy” is my laptop computer.
40. I hate busy Wal-Marts. I’m seriously considering limiting myself to one trip there a month. I think the lines are ridiculous.
41. I could live without chocolate but not sugar I love it. My favorite thing to eat for dessert is a cookie, my ultimate favorite being sugar cookies.
42. Since high school, I’ve lived in 13 different towns.
43. I have been to two Dodger’s games – both of which I was on a blind date. –I have friends with season tickets and in order to go they have to set me up with nice young men.
44. I own a turtle, his name is Gus, he lives in my classroom and eats live goldfish.
45. I have only been to the beach twice but I have seen both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
46. I love to have pedicures and am thinking about getting one even though no one will see my toes for months now that the weather is cooler.
47. I like to roast marshmallows but not eat them.
48. My favorite rides at amusement parks are the ones that lift you high in the air and then drop you.
49. I love road trips. My favorite was when my good friend Nikkie and I drove to Portland for a friend’s wedding. We picked up a hitch-hiker at 4 in the morning 30 min. outside of Portland, collected sand dollars at the beach, and went to the Rose gardens in downtown Portland.
50. If I could be anywhere at any given moment it would be with my loved ones. I’m glad that even though life doesn’t allow us to all be together we can be close through phone calls and sharing pictures on the Internet.

Christiana Naomi Willis

After graduation, I attended cosmetology school in Pocatello. While in Poky, I met my husband Dave. We dated for three years, then were married on February 14, 2003. After I graduated Cosmetolgy school, I mananged a salon in Chubbuck for about two and a half years. Dave and I bought a triplex in the University area of Pocatello, and then decided to turn one of our apartments into a salon. So while I did hair in our basement apartment, Dave went to college and worked as a Detention Officer at the Detention Center. While in that house, we had our first Daughter, Stephanie Karelynn, on August 30, 2005. Dave graduated ISU with a Bachelors Degree in Business Education. Then he got a job at the INL as a Security Police Officer, so we sold our triplex and got a bigger house, because I was pregnant with our second daughter. The house used to be a rental home with one apartment up and one down, so we turned the basement kitchen into another salon so I could continue to work. I had our second daughter, Whitney Joy, on February 22, 2008. I work about one or two days a week in my salon, on Dave's days off, so he can watch the girls while I am down there. We like Pocatello and will probably stay here unless Dave's work brings us elsewhere. I spend most of my days with my girls, Stephanie 3, and Whitney 8 months, just playing around and having fun being a mom!

Jed Ray Clark

After graduating high school I attending Ricks College where I lived with my pal Jordan. I had the chance to wrestle for one year there before going on my mission to Vancouver Canada. I had a great experience while I was there in British Columbia and I look forward to being able to go back up there some day. After returning home I went back to school, which had changed to BYU-Idaho. During the summer after returning from my mission, I met my soon-to-be wife Amanda. We dated while going to school and then were married December 21, 2002 (I think that’s the right date?).

While going to school, I also started working for Sam, my brother, and Blake Bowman, who had started a construction company called B-C Construction. Most of our work consisted of concrete foundation, driveways, sidewalks, etc. As time went on we got into framing, remodels, garages, and really anything start to finish in building a home. Sometime around 2006 Blake got a job as one of the building inspectors for Fremont County. After that, Sam and I started our own company called Clark Brothers Builders. Most of our work is general contracting, so we work on pretty much all aspects of home building.

I graduated from BYU-Idaho with a Bachelor’s degree in Math and Physics Education. My wife graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Childhood Development. We have two little boys, Kolby Frank who is 4, and Max Ray who is 2. We live in St. Anthony and I teach Math at South Fremont High School, where I also coach wrestling. My wife teaches preschool and takes care of me and the boys, she’s the best!!

As a family we love to go camping, waterskiing with Chris Calonge, snowmobiling, playing games, and the boys favorite is probably reading books. The second I walk in the door, Max is there at the door with a book saying, “read it, read it!!” The boys love going with me to work or going hunting, and as long as I have enough food and drink to keep them entertained it’s a lot of fun. Otherwise they get bored and they tell me they want to go back to mommy.

We feel very blessed as a family and love to spend time with our friends and family. It’s nice to be close enough to visit often and help our children build a relationship with their cousins, aunts and uncles, and grandparents.
